Founded in October of 2001 by Debbie McClennon, Center Stage was the first gospel booking agency with a weekly gospel television show. By showcasing artists on our platform and on the internet, we offering clients from around the world access to big-name gospel entertainment.

"I worked for over 10 years with Thist Record Company as the assistant to our AR Director. I was also a recording artist on the label, one of the lead singers with Marguerite Gatling & The Inspirational Charms. Working at Thist records, I was under the leadership of (Chess Records) music producer Gene Barge and marketing and promotions guru Gus Redmond, (two of the biggest named producers/promoters in Chicago). I learned the trade of "music, marketing and promotions" says Debbie.  

 

After relocating to Memphis TN, I continued my work in the gospel quartet industry. I saw a need to bring independent gospel quartet artists to the forefront by way of the airwaves, television, internet and other media outlets. With the lack of diversity and glaring gap in the marketplace,  I birthed Center Stage Gospel Marketing and Promotions.

 

My mission is to encourage, develop and empower the future generation of gospel quartet singers and continue to provide a voice and stage for independent artists. I have been recording and performing for years however I wasn't getting any major market radio airplay or bookings on major stages. Center Stage's goal is to bridge the gap with the lack of emphasis and concern placed on the independent gospel quartet singers and musicians by the nations major broadcasters, recording industry, major market promoters, concert venues, conventions and award shows.    

 

In 2016, I purchased a stage at the Gospel Music Workshop of America Conference.  I presented over ten quartet artists that performed in one hour for the (GAG) Gospel Announcers Guild. This was the first time that these amount of artists performed an anointed quality performance in the amount of time allotted in the history of GMWA meetings. The chairman of the workshop Bishop Albert Jamison, Walter Hawkins and many other major artists was in attendance and was amazed and blessed by each performing artists.

 

 I figured if performing in front of all the major market decision makers caught on, it would be the perfect avenue to allow major market music directors, owners and promoters the ability to see, hear and discover the unique talent of quartet singers and musicians.  I then decided to combine my agency and production knowledge to offer a complete turn-key service to these industry people, allowing them unprecedented access to receiving our music and to book any act in the gospel quartet industry for their events anywhere in the world."
